Would a full bed comforter fit a twin bed or will it look overly big for my bed?

Too big. But who cares. How many people to you give tours to your bedroom(s) to. If you like it to big, go for it.
I always put a full on a twin — I like the way it hangs over the edges.
The length of a twin and a full are the same, its just the width that differs.
